Breastfeeding Questions

Positive breastfeeding questions and answers are often shared through contact with other mothers and encourage both learned and role modeled behavior to us. Breastfeeding is one of the most natural acts of mothering but still requires strong support and knowledge.
breastfeeding questions
Although we possess a very strong instinctual drive to nurture, protect and feed our babies, we don't necessarily know HOW to do it.

Contact with other parents helps and supports us as we learn which are our breastfeeding questions, and then we pay it forward by passing on our knowledge.

Breastfeeding my four children will always remain one of my most treasured memories of bonding with each new babe, along with the knowledge that they received the greatest start to their lives.

I have enjoyed being part of often controversial support groups to encourage open breastfeeding in public, along with being part of a support team to help new mothers become established with feeding. These have been valuable times in my parenting experiences with other women.

Breastfeeding Books
Wonderful books have been written on every aspect of breastfeeding imaginable.  Among the many I would recommend, these stand out for me in particular.

The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding
by the La Leche League has absolutely stood the test of time and is still the 'bible' for many on this subject. Filled with teaching, understanding, and empathetic advice and answers to your breastfeeding questions, this book is equally as valuable for the first time mother as the experienced mother.

Sheila Kitzinger has always felt to me like the ultimate source of womanly and motherly comfort in all her writings. I warmly recommend her books on any subject, but her Breastfeeding Your Baby proved invaluable to me.
